Meet Le Coach Fitness Owner Nathaniel - aka ’Le Boss’
Ever wondered who’s behind the vision at Le Coach Fitness? Well, first up in our ‘Meet The Team’ Q&A hot seat is owner and director, Nathaniel - aka “Le Boss”.
Read on to learn more about the driving force of the gym.
What inspired you to work in the fitness industry?
I started working out at 17 in a local gym in Paris, and my passion for fitness grew when I moved to Montreal to study sports management and marketing. While there, I worked with a personal trainer, Robin, who inspired me to pursue a career in fitness.
After returning to the UK, I qualified as a personal trainer and worked in several Cambridge gyms before deciding to build my own life project, Le Coach Fitness.
What I love most about Le Coach is our unique collection of rare, high-quality machines. It is one of the best in the UK and creates an unmatched training experience.
What’s your favourite machine at Le Coach Gym?
My favourite machine is the Cybex Mark One Hack Squat - one of the best leg machines in the UK. What makes it so special is its rarity; there are only a handful of these machines left in Europe, with most still in the USA.
Built in the 1990s, the golden era of bodybuilding, this machine is a true piece of fitness history. It was used by some of the most iconic bodybuilders of that time and training on it feels like stepping back into that legendary era.
What’s one piece of advice you always give gym members?
Easy. No pain no gain. Make a plan, and make sure you stick to it.
What’s a fun fact about you that most members don’t know?
Before I got hooked on bodybuilding, I was fanatical about several unusual sports! I actually competed in the French National Championship for Pony Games (yes, speeding around on small horses!).
I also made it to the French National Championship for Badminton. Safe to say, I’ve always had a bit of a competitive streak - but these days it’s all about competing with myself in the gym!
If you could train with any fitness legend, who would it be?
Without a doubt, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Because he didn’t just dominate bodybuilding, he revolutionised it. As an immigrant to the USA, he broke barriers and became the global face of bodybuilding in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
His passion, charisma, and work ethic didn’t just inspire lifters - they helped shape the entire fitness industry as we know it and built the foundation of modern bodybuilding.
Any more questions for Nathaniel? You’ll find him around the gym in the afternoon or evening, either in the office, on reception, or hitting a workout five times a week.
